The itinerary starts from Casole d’Elsa following the road to Monteguidi that can be reached climbing about 3 kilometers uphill. From Monteguidi descend along the road that crosses the river Cecina then a moderate uphill, that soon becomes steeper, begins that leads toward the village of Montecastelli into the Province of Pisa.
From Montecastelli continue downhill towards Castelnuovo Val di Cecina; after 4 kilometers leave the road towards Castelnuovo to turn left onto the winding road to Radicondoli (12 kilometers): first go down the bridge over the stream Lucignano, then go up the hill of Radicondoli. This is a delightful medieval village located far from main routes and set in a panoramic position.
From Radicondoli a fast and pleasant descent of 2 kilometers leads to a junction where to turn left following the signs to Mensano 5.5 kilometers away. From here keep on pedaling following the signs to Casole d’Elsa 8 kilometers away. Now find a downhill again and soon after the last climb uphill to the point of departure.
