Saturnia spa (Terme di Saturnia) is an enchanted corner in the heart of the Tuscan Maremma. Swimming pools, Jacuzzis, golf courses, tennis courts and plenty of garden space to relax make of these spas the most popular tourist attractions of the surrounding area.
The inflow from the source is constantly renovating the thermal waters at 37 degrees Celsius. The opportunity to swim in this large natural swimming pool is priceless. The water of the pool boasts important therapeutic properties that help with bone diseases, inflammation, and simple skin exfoliation.
Besides the wonderful swimming pools, Saturnia is a full resort set in an environment of striking beauty. The 50 treatments cabins, fitness center, three restaurants, swimming pools and 140 rooms (71 junior suites, 3 suite and 2 large suites) are surrounded by blooming gardens in an oasis of peace. The spa also features a distinguished Mediterranean cuisine served at the restaurant Aqualuce, while at the restaurant All’Acquacotta the cuisine is centered on typically Tuscan dishes voted to wellness with tasty recipes that help keep a healthy diet.
A portion of the spa is dedicated to Roman Baths, an area that recreates the atmosphere of the ancient Roman baths. One starts with the steam sauna to continue with a selection of showers to be chosen accordingly to one’s mood: tonic shower, orange lighting shower, wrapping spray shower, and relaxing shower with blue lighting. And finally, the steam bath and regenerating bio-sauna.
The Movement Area is dedicated to physical culture and the art of movement, at complete disposal of guests. Wellness pathways lead to the pleasant discovery of whirlpools, waterfalls and pathways in vascular hot and cold water.
The spa park also includes an art gallery where the great masters of the 19th century and of the beginning of the 20th coexist in harmony. Those who want to cure their appearance at no compromise will find a hairstylist, the atelier Aldo Coppola by Terme di Saturnia, and the single-brand Spazio Cruciani boutique. Also available a wide range of wellness spa products at the Spa Boutique. Enough to make Terme di Saturnia the largest and most awarded spa in Europe.
It’s not all. Within the next two years the spa will develop 25 golf suites in a medieval village inside the golf course.
If you are wandering why the name of the spa is Saturnia, the legend narrates that the Roman god Saturn (maker of bolts) got angry at men and cast a thunderbolt on Earth. On hitting the ground, the thunderbolt created a large hole from which tepid water started to come out forming the spa of Saturnia that you can enjoy today!
